Wool coat care guide

We always hope our favorite clothes stay in perfect condition for a long time. In this section, we'll show you how to easily care for a wool coat at home, along with tips to help it last!

Before following the care instructions below, we recommend checking the garment's care label. For outerwear, the care label is located inside, near the left pocket.

Cleaning:

  • Do not wash, dry clean only!

Easy daily maintenance

  • Try to always store it on a thick hanger, in order to preserve its shape.
  • If there is dust or dirt on the coat, you can use a clothes brush to clean it. Start at the top and work your way down, along the collar to the shoulders and arms. Brush lightly from the bottom up, against the surface fibers of the garment, to dislodge the dust where it needs special treatment. Over-cleaning can damage the coat's texture.

Removing pilling/lint:

Areas of friction such as the shoulders, wrists, and waist are more prone to pilling. Rather than leaving it, it's best to remove pilling as soon as possible.
  • Use scissors : Instead of pulling the lint out with your fingertips (which pulls and damages the fabric), we recommend using narrow-tipped scissors. Lay the garment flat and carefully cut away the lint, without cutting the fabric.
  • It is also recommended to use a lint remover . Lay the coat on a flat surface, press down gently, and carefully smooth over the pilled area. Sometimes, the pills are too small to be removed.

Fleece Care Guide

Before following the care instructions below, we recommend checking the product's care label. For outerwear, the care label is located inside, near the left pocket.

To care for UNIQLO fleece, avoid using excessive heat or friction during washing and cleaning, as this will melt the tiny fibers and cause them to become matted. If the fabric becomes flat, brush it occasionally with a clothes brush.

  1. General care: Clean the fabric regularly with a damp cloth and comb it with a clothes brush to restore its volume and suppleness. Some lint may come loose. Avoid rubbing against bags or belts, as excessive friction can worsen pilling or tangling. Use a fabric shaver to remove pills or carefully trim them with scissors.
  2. Washing instructions: Generally, machine wash in cold water on a delicate cycle. Use a laundry bag, wash separately, and inside out. Do not use bleach, whitening agents, or detergents containing optical brighteners. Do not dry clean.
  3. Do not iron. Reshape the garment while damp. Dry it completely in the shade or in a low-temperature environment.

Care guide for down and quilted (puffer jackets)

Before following the care instructions below, we recommend checking the product's care label. For outerwear, the care label is located inside, near the left pocket.

To prolong the life of your beloved down jacket, we advise making a habit of airing it out, using a damp cloth to remove dirt, and occasionally spraying it with a fabric freshener. Generally, down outerwear doesn't need to be washed as often, as frequent washing can cause the down to lose its fluffiness.

If any feathers escape, do not force them out. You should tuck them back inside the garment by pulling them from the inside. If you pull too hard, the hole will enlarge and the down will easily escape.

Please note that the care method varies depending on the product. Please follow the instructions on the item's care label.

  1. Washing instructions: Prepare water with a neutral detergent in a wash tub, and gently wash the garment with this solution. Then rinse with clean water 2 or 3 times to ensure no detergent remains. If detergent remains on the fabric, it may cause stains or changes in texture. For more heavily soiled areas such as the neck and cuffs, use a sponge or cloth with detergent, gently dabbing them (spot cleaning). Avoid using a washing machine or dryer, as using a conventional machine may damage the garment.
  2. Drying: Dry completely in the shade. If using a tumble dryer, turn the garment inside out and dry on a low heat setting. Add at least three clean tennis balls to the dryer and run the cycle until your jacket is completely dry. Pause the machine or cycle to shake the jacket occasionally, as you want the down to redistribute evenly throughout. The jacket is ready to wear when it is completely dry and smells fresh.

  1. Washing instructions: Hand wash gently in cold water. Do not dry clean and wash separately. Do not use bleach, whitening agents, or detergents containing fluorescent whitening or brightening agents. Use a pH-neutral liquid detergent and avoid rubbing or soaking the item in water for extended periods. Do not wring, as this may damage the garment and degrade its quality.
  2. Drying: Wrap the garment in a towel to remove excess moisture. Dry completely in the shade or tumble dry on low heat. Any remaining water can cause odors, so be sure to dry the garment completely before storing it.

  1. Washing instructions: Hand wash gently in cold water. Do not dry clean. Wash separately. Do not use bleach, whitening agents, or detergents containing fluorescent whitening or brightening agents. Use a pH-neutral liquid detergent and avoid rubbing or soaking the item in water for extended periods. This product is designed with special filling that may clump in some areas during washing. If the filling clumps, gently pat or knead the area to redistribute it.
  2. Drying: Wrap the garment in a towel to remove excess moisture. Dry completely in the shade or at a low temperature. Any remaining water can cause odors, so be sure to dry the garment completely before storing it.
  3. Do not iron: This item is treated with a non-permanent water-repellent finish that will gradually fade with repeated washing. Packaging the item for an extended period will cause creases to form. Smooth out the creases and hang the item until it regains its original shape.
Note: This item does not contain down, but it functions similarly to our ULD products and is an alternative to our down outerwear. Care instructions vary by product. Please follow the instructions on the item's care label.
